I’ve been trying to do my part with regards to my recycling but lately it’s just been out of control. I have an old plastic milk crate next to my waste bin and I just chuck it all in at once and separate later. Because I am inherently lazy, I have noticed the recycling is reaching heights I am not sure I can climb. I precariously balance box, on top of bottle, on top of can until I find I am playing recycling Jenga. So I have been searching high and low for some type of recycling system that will meet my needs. I don’t want something too big (I barely have room for the milk crate), I also want separate compartments and I don’t want to buy special bags for it. I think I have found the answer, well ok two answers I just can’t’ decide which to choose. Hopefully MUL readers can help me out. I found on one of my favorite blogs Bloesem, the Trash Can (I know not a very original name but it’s such a cool concept that’s forgivable) by Chen and Karlsson. It’s really quite a simple design and I think it’s amazing no one thought of this before. Basically, four clips holding a used grocery bag and who doesn’t have a million of those stuffed under their sink? I do wonder about the sturdiness and whether or not the clips could handle my monthly kegger (kidding) but other than that it’s compact and simple and it meets the criteria.
Next up, is the Binvention (extra points for the clever name) which I saw while browsing Popgadget. The Binvention by U.K. company Sprout also has what I need: seperate compartments, uses grocery bags, compact but what I also like about this one is it looks sturdier to me. It also comes in a variety of colors so I can match it to my decor. So those are the choices. What do you think MUL readers? Which one would you choose?
While the Trash Can is looking super cool, I agree with you that the Binvention looks more useful. Also like the fact that it is offered in many different colors.
