The pope is coming to New York this week (my friend Fitz wrote a funny post on his blog Toilet Scribble about his fetish for the pope’s hats) and for the faithful it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see, well, the Holy See. For the rest of us heathens it’s a major pain in the commuting arse. But since we try to be tolerant of all faiths (even the wacky ones, Scientology we’re looking at you) we thought we would show you these crazy pics we saw on The Mid-century Modernist (excellent blog by the way check it out) of St. Bartholomew’s in Eastern Bohemia. Redesigned by Czech Maxim Velcovsky the most notable features are the sleek Verner Panton chairs with punched crucifix. Now if more churches looked like this maybe we would finally find religion but for now we will continue to worship Arne Jacobsen. Check out another pic after the jump…
Nice chandelier…
