My friend has an extensive wine collection. Whenever he travels, he ships back at least a case or two from his destination to store in his wine cellar. Unfortunately he just sold his house and has moved into a much smaller place in SoHo. As anyone who lives downtown can tell you unless you have a lot of bank to spend your not going to find many apartments with a wine cellar. So he’s stuck trying to find a solution for storing wine in an urban setting. Hopefully, I can help him out, well with the champagne at least. The Porsche Design Studio designed this wine cellar exclusively for champagne maker Veuve Clicquot. The cellar is really gorgeous. A freestanding, brushed stainless steel cabinet holds twelve bottles individually with a label on the side of each shelf door giving the bottles year of production. Beautifully designed by Porsche, so you know it’s got class and while I can’t vouch for it’s efficiency it certainly is a beautiful solution to a serious wine drinker’s storage problem.
