I’ve managed to accumulate three huge trash bags full of clothes during my spring cleaning this year. To be honest they are still sitting in my living room till I can garner enough strength to haul them over to the charity shop. But I might just hang on to them if I can get my hands on the Fill It furniture system. Submitted as part of a Design Boom competition the system designed by Inna Alesina uses recycled products, such as: plastic bottles, bags or this case clothes, to create furniture. By stuffing tubular “skins” with the recyclables and then inserting them into a furniture form, your used trash becomes functional furniture. Unfortunately, the Fill It system is just a design concept at this point but it’s such a brilliant idea I’m sure it will be in production very soon.
