There is nothing better than a good night’s sleep. Sleep is the bomb. They say the average person will spend 1/3 of their life asleep. Not us, we’re pretty sure we’ll sleep at least 1/2 of ours away. So a couple of years ago, in pursuit of the ultimate night’s sleep and to make us feel a little more grown up, we purchased a brand new mattress. It seemed like a pretty good one, although to be honest it was on sale and ultimately that was the reason we purchased it. :P We took really good care of it, doing all the flipping and rotating you’re supposed to do to keep your mattress from wearing out. And we slept good…for awhile. But after three years it seems to have lost its firmness. It’s not as comfy as it once was and is starting to sag a little. So we’ve taken the valuable lessons we learned and have started searching for a new, more durable yet comfy mattress. This time around we have a few requirements. Not only do we want to make sure it will last more than a couple years but we really need a mattress that is also hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites. And because the environment is important we’d really like to buy a mattress made of natural and sustainable materials. One option maybe The Natural Care® matress from Simmons®. It’s made of a natural rubber tree based latex, has a soy enhanced base and the the wood used in the foundation is from sustainable forests. Even better the mattress is biodegradable and is naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites. We suffer from allergies so that is really important in our book. As demand grows we hope to see more environmentally friendly mattresses on the market. Not only is it better for your health but also good for the Earth as well.
