Leave it to the clever Japanese to come up with an efficient yet attractive way to extinguish an out of control kitchen fire. Let’s say your cooking up some yummy tempura when all of a sudden a grease fire erupts, no fear just grab the artificial flowers conveniently hanging on your refrigerator door. As the flowers begin to melt into a brown gooey mess they essentially smother the fire. There’s also probably some kind of chemical reaction that takes place but since we don’t know a lick of the language you will have to find a nice Japanese friend to help you out with the details.
