Modern design pet furniture is becoming popular with pet owners who don’t want to sacrifice style for function. We have scoured the web for the latest designs for your pet. Take a look at some of the products out on the market.
OK, even though we know people are going to balk at the notion of a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired prefab house for dogs and cats, we think this is pretty darn cool. Is it extravagant and pretentious? Of course it is. But so is dressing up your pup in designer doggie outfits and dog boots. And we think it’s far better looking then the boring, old traditional doghouse. Obviously, this would’nt be practical as an outdoor home for Rover but for an indoor hideaway we think it’s the tops! We like that the wooden slats that allow both pet and owner to keep a watchful eye on one another. Or if your pet is feeling social, they can take a nice catnap on the roof of their lovely home. The home, called Architectura, is available at Pre-Fab-Pets.com.
Also from Prefab Pets is this elegant platform bed. While it doesn’t look as comfy as other pet beds we’ve seen at least it will look good in your home. And while the bent wood cubbies might not be big enough for a full grown cat it would make a good hiding place for rambunctious kittens.
This cat tower seems like a relaxing place to take an afternoon nap. We can appreciate the Zen-like simplicity and minimalistic design of the Lotus Cat Tower. Looking more like a piece of modern art than a place for kitty to perch, the tower provides your cat with different levels for lounging or climbing, a little hideaway at the bottom and a nice scratching post to keep those claws well manicured. It also comes in a shorter version if you’d prefer a tower less conspicuous. The tower is available on The Refined Feline website.
It’s not just pet furniture that’s going modern. This smart looking pet food bowl, Nom Nom, is from Hepper Home. Hepper Home is an awesome site devoted to modern pet products. It features a wide lipped ceramic base to catch any leftovers your pet may want to save for later. And the bowl comes with two stainless steel inner trays so you can always have a clean one handy. We also wonder if you couldn’t use the ceramic base to hold water?
Also from Hepper Home this futuristic sleep unit, known as the Pod. The round base is just the right shape cats love to snuggle in. The dome lid provides your snoozing cat the privacy he craves while giving him plenty of room to move about.
And finally we wrap it up with the Cantemporary Cat Box from The Refined Feline. This stylish box covers up the unpleasant part of owning a cat. The attractive modern box hides the litter pan keeping your cat’s rest stop clean and tidy. It also helps to keep odors at bay with built in air holes and an inner shelf that holds odor absorbers.

Just so you all know, cats are the worst pets and cannot give enough affection to deserve attention.
Wow! We’ve never received a comment from God before. We thought he’d have better things to do, like end world hunger and such but we sure are humbled he took time off of his busy schedule to drop by Modern Urban Living. Thanks God.

“The Pod” was the absolute best. I can picture a cat in there with their aluminum foil hats to protect their thoughts. lol.
Briannes last blog post..Apartment Composting, still possible? Of course.
These are all really cute…but the cat tower one looks like it would be hard for kitty to hop from perch to perch. Maybe the pic’s just at the wrong angle though.
yeah i really liked the cat tower, I know my 2 cats would love it, but they also love cardboard boxes and i can get them for free
You sure do love your Dog mate.. I can see that
What unique furniture! My cat would be so spioled- as he should be!
