Design Inspiration:Offensiveness

This week we found so many offensive things on the web we just couldn’t ignore the universe nudging us to delve into the distasteful. 

Repulsive Plushies

We’ll give you just one guess as to what these are. We would be a little bit more disgusted if they weren’t so damn cute. If you guessed Tampon Dolls then your mind is on the right track for this post, so keep reading. A little less disgusting and even more cute are the used tissue plushies down below. Flower Urinals

Now this one surprised us and we’re pretty sure our buddy Fritz at Toilet Scribble.com, a connoisseur of all things toilet humor related, has never seen anything quite like this either. The “Urinal Sculptures“are made by Clark Sorensen, not surprisingly from San Francisco and are truly for the gentleman in touch with his feminine side. We’re not even sure where one might find a fancy flower-inal (we made that up, feel free to pass it around the office) in which to relieve himself  but one thing is for sure it would make the men’s room a wee bit nicer to…well wee in. 

Abu Ghraib Coffee Table

The American Gift Shop is an installation project by Philip Toledano. The concept of the exhibit? Life deserves its on set of souvenirs. The American Gift Shop offers this coffee table, along with other souvenirs, a bitter reminder of the events of the last 8 years. As the tag line from the website says:

If American Foreign Policy had a gift shop, what would it sell?

The Blow-Up Toilet

And on a lighter note (no pun intended) our friends over at ConcepTrends featured this interesting design concept, The Inflatable Toilet. Probably pretty easy to clean but it would suck if you sprang a link (the jokes just keep coming folks). :>
