It’s been go-go-go since we arrived in Copenhagen, Denmark for Danish Design Week. Yesterday, we were invited to attend the launch of ‘It’s a Small World’ exhibit at the Danish Design Center. The event was also the official start to Copenhagen’s first ever Design Week. In attendance was Fredrik, Crown Prince of Denmark (of course we snapped a few photos), along with other notable dignitaries from the Danish design world. ‘It’s a Small World’ exhibit centers around six interdisciplinary scenarios working to develop a unique concept for each of the four main themes: Sustainability, Human Scale, New Craftsmanship, and Non-Standardized Praxis.

Easily one of our favorite parts of the exhibit was the ‘Soul Wash’. Think of it as a human car wash sans suds. The giant spinning cloths meant to give a karmic cleansing.

Both the young and old had a great time swinging indoors!

There were more than a few mentions of NYC and it’s growing bicycle culture. Copenhagen hopes to be a shining example to the rest of the world, when it comes to alternative modes of transportation.

Solar curtains could be the wave of the future! These panels collected solar energy to power your home’s electronics.

“It’s a Small World is currently on exhibit at the Danish Design Center, Copenhagen.
They all look fantastic. But what is the theme of the last piece?
Wish I’d been there!
