So many times, I’ve wished I could live inside a cozy cocoon. Avoiding life’s problems, albeit temporarily, is an obvious benefit, but it is also a comfort to be snug like a bug in a rug. Hmm… with the outbreak of bed bugs in NYC lately, perhaps that is a saying that should be laid to rest.
The Danish have a word that is hard to translate (not to mention pronounce) but generally it means coziness. Whether it the soft light of a candle, a favorite spot on the sofa or a dinner party with friends, the word hyggeligt is used to describe the feeling of charm, comfort and well…coziness. That’s what comes to mind when I see the ‘Cocon’ armchair designed by Céline Merhand and Anaïs Morel for Superette.
I think the Cocon would make a perfect recuperating spot after a busy day. I would like to just tuck it away in a corner of my living room and climb in on cool winter nights. Ooh! You know what would be even better? A couple’s version! It’s always more fun to snuggle up with someone.
