The Coat Track from Rocket Designs features a ‘mix’ of wall graphics and hardware to create a 3D effect for  your wall. We want one for our wall! Don’t see any distribution for them in the USA but we’re sure that’s only temporary. The products are so cool and funky, we’re optimistic you’ll see them in the States very soon!

Tom Dixon’s entry exhibits gave a wide overview of their famous line of products and provided a beautiful backdrop to the event.

One of our favorite designers Jaime Hayon unveiled his latest creations for Lladró at ICFF2010.

Benjamin Rollins Caldwell of BRC Designs never disappoints when it comes to creative furniture but it’s also pretty comfy too. His PVC chair provided us with a much needed respite during the show.

Mirrored Elk Lights by Light/Play

The zinc finish on these Louis Zinc stools by Reeves Design will develop a gorgeous patina over time, adding depth and character to the pieces.

We got a kick out of the Illuminated Chair by Martha Sturdy. It’s lit from within and changes colors for a subtle drama.

A unique bicycle helmet hanger by designer Sung Kug Kim was part of the Contemporary British Design Exhibits.

We thought Myungseo Kang’s Book Lights were really clever. The lights gave off a nice subtle glow.

Umbra unveiled the winners of their sixth annual Umbra|Pratt Design Competition.

We don’t want to give you the wrong idea, this is not turning into a Chair Blog (one of our must reads btw), but we found this one a little too late for our 10 Quirky Chairs post yesterday and we could wait one single minute to share with our readers.

UK designer Nick Melville designed the chair for a group exhibition at DesignersBlock London 2005.The exhibitions theme was “Dark Design”. He explains the chairs concept :

The Paddy Chair is a comfy upholstered chair with the theme of a padded cell. The enclosed shape is meant to offer an experience of safety and security, and give the user a sanctuary from the rapid pace and noise of everyday life. The chair is large enough to fit two people so you can share the quiet space with a friend.

Introducing Nemo by Fabio Novembre, a concept we love! Sure it’s a little disturbing.  The white mask really freaks us out, we mean the one the woman is wearing not the chair (if you’re even looking at the chair).

Oh the silliness of the Design Virus Chair by Pieke Bergmans, it’s like having your own life-size Monsters Inc. doll.

We want to give The Memory Armchair by Ole Jensen a great big hug. And this chair looks like it would hug back.

The Hoodie Chair by BRDA is a novel concept, yes, but it’s hoodie would also useful storage. A great idea for restaurants and lounges.

Arrrrgh! I  am the Monster Chair by Marcel Wanders for Moooi. I act scary but I am actually just drawn this way.

In the future all furniture will folded and bolted together. The Felt Chair by Lothar Windels has seen the future. Results above.

We think if you name your chair after cheese, we should want to eat it. So why don’t we feel like taking a bite out of the  Mozzarella Chair by Tatsuo Yamamoto?

They call it the Cell Chair from Automare but it kinda reminds us of a bunch of footballs glued together. Anyone else?

Attended the Architectural Digest Home Design Show this weekend and practically made a b-line to our favorite part of AD, DIFFA’s Dining By Design exhibits! Of course we didn’t write a thing down about any of the designs so all we can give you is our interpretation. The comic phone inspired table above was one of the more graphic designs.

We call this Hollywood Asian. Wish our camera were a little better because this picture really doesn’t do it justice. The luminescent table and dramatic background gave the vignette a lot of glamor.

The sign for this exhibit said ‘everything you see in this exhibit’ was reclaimed from the NYC environs. I am sure they washed it first.

We get it. Hair as a design resource, groovy. We dated a Heavy Metal dude once with really long hair. Kinda skeeved us out. We broke up with him because of it. Shallow we know, but there’s just something creepy about constantly picking your boyfriend’s hair off you. The designer of these coiffed creations  Dejano Kabiljo of Kabiljo Inc., designed the PRETTYPRETTY Collection  to ‘regulate the erotic allure that surrounds us’. If your ‘erotic allure’ is dating a dude with long hair these chairs may be for you. But as for us, we feel the same way about these chairs as we did about that guy. We think they’re cool but we don’t want to date them.

This chair has a Dolly Parton circa 1970′s vibe we dig. Definitely Dolly. There’s a busty blond with a touch of sass coming from this chair. If a chair were a spunky girlfriend this would be the one you’d want in your corner. Just like 9 to 5.

Fun? Totally. Practical? Maybe. In the right beauty salon/bar, hellooo… BEAUTY BAR NYC! This bar table really reminds us of “Hedwig and the Angry Itch”. Seen it? No?! Go out right now and rent this movie. It makes you want to go out and by yourself a big old blond ‘Housewives of Atlanta’ wig.

LOVE the Geisha Pouf!  It’s got us turning Japanese (we really think so). Keeping every single hair in place is going to be a challenge, must begin geisha training now.

Korean designer Wonsik Chae‘s Tea Bag Lights are really cool but don’t try taking a sip! The cup is filled with a chemical intermediate and the teabag contains fluorescent molecules, when the two come together the mixture gives off a yellow luminescence. The more you steep the bag, the deeper the glow.
